Join Turtle Bay docents on a free interpretive tour of the Sundial Bridge. Get in-depth information about the building of the bridge, how it works, and stories from many of the people involved in the project, including the inspiration of the designer, Santiago Calatrava.

When you visit the SGA Farmer's Market's, you will find friendly vendors selling a verity of fresh/locally grown fruits, vegetables, nuts, eggs and meats. You can also find fresh flowers, oils, honey, plants, baked goods/breads and prepared foods as well as local artisan goods.

Details:
Hop on a tandem kayak with a friend and explore the quiet coves around Whiskeytown Lake while you learn more about the natural and cultural values of the park. Children must be at least six years old. Reservations can be made up to two weeks in advance beginning Monday, May 28th.




Fern Cave Tours

Details:
Most caves in the Monument can be explored anytime without a reservation. Fern Cave, however, is closed for resource protection reasons and is open to visitors by ranger-guided tour only. The entrance area is not open to the public at any time other than during a ranger-guided tour. The exceptional rock art and sensitive biotic environment in Fern Cave are among the reasons that only guided tours are allowed here. The tour is offered on Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. from June through September, weather and road conditions permitting. Reservations are required and in high demand. The tour is limited to 6 visitors per tour and lasts approximately 1 hour.

The Sundial Splash is a family fun river float, with a race, designed to focus on the heart of our community: The Sacramento River. Join the Paddle Sport Community for a fun race and massive public float down the Sacramento River through the City of Redding. This event is open to citizens at every level of paddle ability, no experience necessary. This moving water paddle event is open to all paddle sport enthusiasts in kayaks, canoes, surfskis, standup paddleboards, outriggers, prone paddleboards, drift boats, rafts, and anything else you can paddle. In fact, if you have never paddled the river, this is your day. Begin your trip at Riverfront Park and enjoy live music along the race course. After your journey, treat yourself to lunch at South Bonnyview’s Reginato River Access. FREE SealLine Dry Bag available for first 200 paid participants! ($20 value, donated by North Country Raft Rentals).

Discover how pioneers/prospectors Charles Camden and Levi Tower reshaped the landscape to create a home for their families and an "oasis" for many travelers during and after the California Gold Rush. After a tour of the Camden house, built in 1852, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the area, then try your hand at finding gold the old-fashioned way-with a gold pan in the creek! Please bring a bottle of water and extra clothing if you choose to get wet. Meet the ranger at the Tower House Historic District parking lot in front of the bulletin board kiosk.



Shasta District Fair

The Shasta District Fair & Event Center is the home of the annual Shasta District Fair. This is an exciting and fun filled 4-day attraction that is the largest event in Shasta County. This event features livestock exhibits, arts & crafts, carnival, live entertainment, and lots of vendors and concessionaires bringing fair-goers a dizzying array of souvenirs, food and drinks. We take great pride in safely and effectively producing fun and exciting entertainment for the community. The Shasta District Fair is a large rural fair held annually Wednesday through Saturday in June. It is without question the most attended annual event in Shasta County and attracts over 90,000 people of all ages and backgrounds.
